Senior Game Engineer
About the Position
We are seeking an exceptional engineer who enjoys working in a wide variety
of aspects of 3D immersive applications, from low-level OpenGL optimization
to high-level AI for NPCs. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver and
is stoked by the diversity of problems available in a start-up environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, streamline and improve existing art pipeline.
- Work with and develop new core aspects of the MMO game engine.
- Work with the art team to ensure the proper balance between aesthetic and technical concerns.
- Employ solid software engineering practices to ensure high-quality,
maintainable/extensible code and predictable schedules.
- Contribute to the development of a top-flight engineering team and successful company.
- Work primarily in C++ in 3D and in 2D.
- Apply proficient scripting skills for lightweight problems.
Desired qualifications:
- Passion for Game Development and general computer programming
- 5+ years professional experience with real time 3D technologies
- 2+ years of commercial experience developing real time 3D environments
- Previous experience creating games and working with game engines a big plus
- Smart, congenial, open-minded, productive
- Excellent C++ programming skills
- Experience with the Torque Engine in specific is a plus
- Solid OpenGL or other real time 3D graphics experience
- Solid general windows programming experience

Web UI Developer
About the Position
Doppelganger is seeking an exceptional candidate to develop a user interface for our website – a portal to our service. The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing and implementing highly interactive scalable web UIs that incorporate beautiful graphic design ease of use and discoverability. This person will be responsible for the layer between graphic design and server-side application code, and will have direct impact on the look and functionality of our service. In this position the candidate will team up with interaction and visual designers, product management, and engineering to deliver a highly interactive web-based application.
Responsibilities:
- Implement rich web UI in collaboration with interaction designer, graphic artists, web developers, and product management
- Write associated unit testss
Our ideal candidate:
- is smart, congenial, open-minded, productive
- can take a comp and produce a working web UI meticulously capturing every visual detail
- is fluent in XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and templating
- produces valid, cross-browser markup; can layout via CSS
- knows Java
- understands automated testing of JS
- is familiar with one or more JS frameworks (DOJO, Y!UI, Prototype, Script.aculo.us) and can articulate pros and cons of each.
- has experience with AJAX
- has a good eye for layout and fonts and is interested in interaction design
- understands how produced markup interacts with web application
- has a Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent industry experience

We are looking for an outstanding strategic leader with player/coach abilities to join us in building a revolutionary social experience. Our ideal candidate will love video games and music, and posses a solid background on the front lines of creative web properties, social networks or video games/virtual worlds. We are looking for someone to help us build more, better and faster without going crazy. Responsibilities:
• Refine and improve our current product strategy to deliver accelerating levels of initial and recurring usage of vSide
• Provide market analysis and recommendations based on current state of social networks and virtual worlds
• Define new features as well as track, measure, and optimize existing features
• Work side-by-side with engineers, artists and designers to collaboratively implement product vision and bring great ideas to life
• Build creative solutions to uncharted usability and interaction design challenges
• Champion the User Experience: advocate the release of exceptional consumer experiences
• Connect with users and gather feedback on features, experiences, behavior and interactions
• Lead and mentor the Product Management team
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have an outgoing and likable personality, be extremely creative, and have impeccable organization skills. This person must have the following additional qualifications:
• Candidates should have 10 years or more experience and have managed a team of at least 5 in the area of technical product management
• Direct experience in development of large-scale entertainment applications on time, on scope and on budget. Video game, social networking or virtual worlds experience all pluses
• Demonstrated ability and comfort working with founders and executives with strong product vision and ideas
• Knows the virtual worlds and/or social network space
• Strong technical foundation combined with experience driving creativity and innovation in product development
• Comfortable with agile design and development practices
• Technical understanding of video games, virtual worlds, and social networks (the more the better)
• Extremely self-motivated player/coach mentality – not afraid to dig in
• Not afraid to work hard in exchange for a phenomenal experience
• Understand the rewards and challenges of a start-up environment
